cycling: Manuel Fumic starts in two rounds of the US Cup

March 14, 2015 by Andrew Waldera

Cycling: Manuel Fumic starts today in San Dimas/California in the opening race of the US Cup. A strong field awaits the Cannondale Factory Racing team rider at Bonelli Park, including his Italian teammate Marco Fontana. The time difference could be an additional burden for the German runner-up due to the short-term arrival three days ago.

At the beginning of March, the Kirchheimer took tenth place in the overall ranking of the four-day Afxentia stage race at the season opener. The two races that Fumic will contest in the USA should be viewed more as a form indicator. The focus of the cross-country specialist is certainly on the World Cup, which will kick off on May 24th in Nove Mesto, Czech Republic. Because the team is based in North America, however, the US Cup races are an obligatory part of Cannondale's professional cycling schedule.

The US Cup consists of five races, the second race will take place next weekend in Fontana/California. Fumic will also start at this race. The races in the series are streamed live on uscup.net, but unfortunately viewing the coverage in Germany is not possible due to rights issues.
