Starting this season, Sigma Sport will be the new team partner of the successful 5-strong women's team. Equipped with the products of the company from Neustadt an der Weinstrasse, the young women are also preparing for the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio.
The successful UCI women's team consists of five nations. The 22-year-old Helen Grobert from the Black Forest, who celebrated her second U23 World Cup victory last season, comes from Germany. With the 27-year-old Swede Alexandra Engen, another top-class driver is at the start, who in 2013 was able to take first place at the World Championship XCE Pietermaritzburg (South Africa) as well as first place in the World Cup XCE OVERALL. The 29-year-old Austrian Lisi Osl also regularly makes it into the top ten. The oldest driver of the team is Katrin Leumann with 32 years. The Swiss won gold in the cross-country relay at the 2010 World Championships in Mont Sainte-Anne. In Haifa she was - also in 2010 - European champion in cross-country. Unfortunately, the driver recently suffered a serious training accident with several fractures. The youngest team member Greta Weithaler, 2013 winner of the World Cup in Albstadt and Nove Mesto, comes from Italy.
The drivers were already equipped with the latest products from Sigma Sport before Christmas. Among other things, the ROX 10.0 GPS training computer, the PC 26.14 heart rate monitor and the Powerled Evo lighting are used. The team will compete in Cyprus for the first time. The Ghost Factory Racing Team will start the 2015 World Cup season in May.
