Hello everyone! Today I send you sunny greetings from Cape Town. For a week I enjoyed the wonderfully warm South African winter here with the Ulle & Friends participants. In addition to the obligatory bike tours, which took us to the scenic highlights of the region, the organizers of pro style also a great culinary program. Maybe I can send a ray of sunshine into the cold German winter via my blog here on Velomotion.
Our adventure in the land of the rainbow started on November 28th. Gradually, all participants arrived at the Vom Valley Hotel. The hotel manager greeted me straight away in a Sydney Olympic jersey signed by me - crazy!
The first tour of our stay was scheduled for the next morning. We left Gordons Bay at 8am, then continued to Kleinmond via Bettys Bay. After about 100km, the first big highlight of our stay awaited us: a wine tasting in Casa Mori. Our private sommelier Max Schunke is at our side, who is responsible for the culinary supporting program and accompanies us on our journey.
The following day, the mountainous hinterland awaited us on our morning bike tour via Franschhoek to Grabouw, where a top-class dinner awaited us in the evening at Cafe BonBon.
On Monday we continued to Hout Bay. The 100km along the coast offered breathtaking landscapes, a magnificent view of the sea and lots of driving fun.
We spent the afternoon and evening in a famous wine region, the Cape Port Vineyard. After a wine tasting in the afternoon, we were able to look forward to an incredibly good dinner later in the evening. That's the way to live.
That's it from me for today. Check back tomorrow and I'll tell you about the rest of the trip. Next up is my birthday!
Bye for now,
Your Ulle
