Cycling: The Lower Franconian bicycle manufacturer Haibike and bike pro Guido Tschugg will be going together from January 2015. Born in the Allgäu, he is one of the most successful cyclists in Germany. He achieved podium places in 4Cross, Downhill and Freeride. He was the only German to take part in the “Red Bull Rampage” twice, probably the toughest mountain bike freeride event in the world. At Haibike, Tschugg becomes a testimonial for the topic of ePerformance.
"I love the speed" – As a child, Guido Tschugg actually wanted to be a motocrosser, just like his father. However, in the first BMX race he finished second straight away, so he stuck with the bike. "For me, eBikes are the perfect combination of both worlds," explains the 2-year-old. The successful mountain bike pro officially switched to the pro camp in 38, where he mainly rode four-cross races in addition to downhill and freeride. His greatest successes include the 2000Cross World Cup victory in Fort William, 4nd, 2rd and 3th place in the 4Cross overall World Cup ranking, 4-time German Champion, 6th place at the Red Bull Rampage and the bronze medals at the European Championship in Stollberg and the World Championship in New Zealand.
“We are very much looking forward to working together with Guido. With him, as one of the best mountain bike riders in Germany, we will give the topic of ePerformance a further boost.", confirms Susanne Puello, Managing Director of the Winora Group. "We would like to use his experience in the mountain bike racing circuit and his know-how in a very targeted manner in the eBike sector." In addition to mountain biking, track construction and design are among Tschugg's greatest interests. "The next few years will be exciting - and I'm looking forward to bringing the soul of MTB sport and motocross into the new partnership."
