Cycling: It is one of the most beautiful long-distance races in Europe: The Alpen Challenge with start and finish in Lantsch/Lenz. After this year's break, the cycling marathon, which is once again part of the Swiss Cycling Top Tour, will take place again next year.
With a new team and a new route, the Alpen Challenge will be relaunched on August 16, 2015, based on a proven concept. The organizer has incorporated 10 years of experience at the Engadin Cycle Marathon into the Alpen Challenge 2015. A lot of attention is paid to the topic of safety, but the routes should also offer cyclists a lot. When registering, participants can choose between two routes. The short route with a length of 110 kilometers and 2665 meters in altitude corresponds to the proven route of the past years. With the Albula and the Julier, two powerful passes are on the agenda. The long-distance route promises 186 kilometers and a whopping 3820 meters in altitude. Here, too, the highlights are lined up like pearls on a chain: Albula Pass, Engadin lakes, Maloja Pass, Bergell, the winding Splügen Pass and the Viamala Gorge with impressive views down below. According to the organizer, the route should be difficult and demanding, but not extreme. However, changes to the route are still possible.
When registering for the Alpen Challenge, the motto is "first come first serve". The limited starting places will be assigned after receipt, so if you want to be there, you have to hurry! If you register by the end of February, there is also an early bird discount.
