This is the motto for my daily training routine, because, as is well known, the basis for successful races in summer has to be laid over the winter. After a good 6 weeks without systematic training and only sporadic physical activity, it is high time to get active again. The break was very good for me and was also necessary to set the course for the new season.
Over the winter, I will try out a lot of alternative training methods this year – the off-road roller skis made the start yesterday! That was a lot of fun - now all you need is your own scooter for the LL shoes and then you can really get started. As soon as there is snow, of course we go to the cross-country ski run and, as a corresponding preparation, spend a week in Livigno or my friend Jachen in the Engadin. Then our team building as part of the cross-country skiing opening in the Leutsch is on the program. 3 days of experiences in the snow, exciting training lectures and team-building activities are on the program there.
As it stands, I won't be flying away for Christmas and will use the time for strength and ski training at home. Thanks to my physiotherapist Patrick Grassnig, I have the perfect conditions for this. Overall, the focus is on general athletics and strength building, because no cycling training is planned until February. Instead, it's just down to business on skis, in the weight room, at the physiotherapist's and at home on the gymnastics mat. I've also planned to gain weight to at least 65 kilos by the time of the first training camps in March, so that I might be able to do individual road races again in the spring.
The local marathons won't start again until the beginning of May and in 2015 I would like to be in good to very good shape for these first races. Together with an ambitious core of my team, I am currently putting together a suitable preparation and racing program. I hope that my goal of a "Kirchmair Racing Team" can already be achieved for 2015, because I want to attack fully again in 2015 and that is of course much easier to achieve with like-minded people. The commitments of some sponsors are still missing, but I hope that one or the other door will open up here.
Numerous applications have already been received for my Jedermann team and the first “new” team riders are already starting their training planning with me today, on November 01st. There is still time to apply for the Kirchmair Cycling Team until the end of November – by December at the latest, all team riders will plan their training and start the 2015 season at the joint team meetings in November and December subscribe to the newsletter.
I wish you a good start into the winter and nice training hours. Maybe we'll see each other on the cross-country ski run or another activity. The easiest way to track my activities is on Facebook. So see you soon!
Kind regards, your Stefan
