Cycling: From May 15th to 17th, 2015, the Colnago Cycling Festival will take place at Lake Garda for the third time. The event, which also hosts the Garda Legend retro race, is open to everyone.
Desenzano, the largest city on Lake Garda, is all about racing bikes this weekend. Already in 2014 around 3000 participants started at the Gran Fondo alone. For the cycling marathon, which takes place on Sunday, cyclists have three distances to choose from. The short route has a length of 77 kilometers with 940 meters in altitude, in the middle distance the participants can expect 110 kilometers with 1384 meters in altitude. For the long lap, a crisp 159 kilometers and 2044 meters in altitude are on the agenda.
The Garda Legend also takes place on Sunday. This race promises pure nostalgia. All racers who own a racing bike built before 1980 are invited. Unfortunately, the number of participants is limited to 100 starters. The short distance of the marathon with 77 kilometers is driven at the Garda Legend. The day before, on Saturday May 16th, the Lake Garda tour invites long-distance drivers. The starters can choose between two routes with lengths of 147 kilometers and 200 kilometers. Registration for the races is already possible.
