Market: The US manufacturer Trek, together with Fox and the Formula 1 suspension specialist Penske Racing, has developed a new damper technology – RE:aktiv . Furthermore, the Fuel EX will also be available in a 27,5-inch version starting next season.
Trek claims that its RE:aktiv damper technology, in conjunction with the proven DRCV system, will elevate the performance of its trail bikes to a new level. This is primarily due to the dynamic adjustment of the damper by the RE:aktiv system, which responds to the force and speed of impacts. Thus, the low-speed compression damping remains active for smaller impacts, while the damping is reduced for larger impacts.
If you follow the explanations in the attached video, the chassis should become more efficient and resemble a mixture of propulsion-oriented XC bike and descent-oriented downhiller. The system seeks its approach directly to the damper and not, as was previously the case, to the spring characteristic.
The RE:aktiv system will be featured on the new Fuel EX 27,5 models , among others . The 650B version of the popular trail bike will be available in a total of five models. The 29er version will also continue to be offered. Pricing for the new models, which are expected to be available later this year, is not yet available.
