Bicycle workshop: Tips&Tricks Video: FOX suspension Friday – cleaning the suspension fork/shock absorber

August 10, 2018 by the editorial office

Fox landing gear Friday

Tips & Tricks Video: In the next few weeks we will be doing a "FOX Suspension Friday" every Friday, in which we would like to present you with all the basics about suspension elements. Today's Fox Suspension Friday is about:

How do I properly clean the suspension fork and damper?

And can I even omit the valve caps on a suspension fork or damper?

Again and again you see mountain bikes on the trails or in the bike park that no longer have their valve caps mounted on their suspension forks or dampers? What can happen if I leave out these valve caps?

There are cleaning and care products for bicycles like sand on a sea. But are these products absolutely necessary? And what about the suspension fork and the damper. Does it harm? What about care sprays for suspension forks and dampers? Are these useful or will they damage the seals? We have been asking ourselves all these and other questions for some time. Thanks to Chris, we now know what makes sense and what doesn't make sense.

With this episode, our Fox Suspensions Friday series ends. We hope you found the tips and tricks that Chris Trojer gave us helpful and you can approach the setup of your suspension elements step by step. If you have any further questions during the weeks, please feel free to let us know.
