Both the Koga Beach Racer as well as the Koga F3series were awarded the iF Product Design Award 2014. This award is already the second prize for these two very different bikes. The Beach Racer won a Eurobike Award 2013 and the F3-Series a red dot product design award 2013.
The beach racer and F3 are winners in the category leisure and lifestyle. The iF product design award has been a globally recognized trademark for excellent design for 60 years. In the 2014 competition, 3.249 products were judged by design experts.
The jury evaluated the entries according to criteria such as design quality, workmanship, choice of materials, degree of innovation, environmental compatibility, functionality, ergonomics, visualization of use, safety, brand value and branding as well as aspects of universal design.
Characteristic of F3 [Link] is the shape of the frame tubes, in which round and sharp-edged lines are used alternately, accented with a understated Design with red accents. The name of the bike comes from the approach of combining performance (function) and design (shape) as well as driving pleasure (fun).
The Beach Racer [Link] is the fusion of a cyclo-crosser with a 29er mountain bike. The result is a unique, directional bike with its own unique handling characteristics. Ideal for beach races, but also for fast off-road driving and rough country lanes.
Both models are already commercially available.
