Product news: Haibike starts the new year with distinction

15 January 2014 by the editorial office

Haibike

The Schweinfurt bike manufacturer Haibike is going with its ePerformance line XDuro own ways and was recently awarded for it. The XDuro NDuro Pro received the Design and Innovation Award Gold. In the ePerformance market, the bike is the "Game Changer 2014 for the entire bike industry" was the summary of the expert jury, which was made up of top athletes and experts from the MTB industry. The jury cites the following as highlights: Groundbreaking pioneer for eMTBs, houtstanding driving performance and geometry, Integration of the Bosch mid-motor,trail-specific equipment with chain guide, SRAM XX1, telescopic seat post, Angleset and potent Fox Float X damper, Optics and frame design.

With the award, an eMTB was chosen as the best product of the year for the first time. The XDuro NDuro Pro was able to assert itself against 20 high-end mountain bikes and thus impressively confirmed the relevance of the new ePerformance category. The award and the reasons given by the jury make it clear that the Haibike XDuro NDuro Pro has all the driving characteristics of an enduro even with an electric drive and still demands everything from athletes.

"Another great success for the XDuro line", explains Felix Puello, product manager at Haibike. “We are very pleased that the investments in frame and chassis development have been rewarded with success. Frame constructions are becoming increasingly complex in the eMTB sector and we have invested heavily in our current frame platform.”

After the offensive by many mountain bike manufacturers at the last Eurobike, eMTBs now seem to have arrived in the sporty segment, as the award proves. This year, too, Haibike will host the eBike race at the Tegernsee mountain bike festival (May 31 – June 1, 2014).
