With the "Monterra" Garmin introduces the new flagship of their navigation devices. The "Monterra" according to Garmin, combines the advantages of a robust outdoor GPS device with those of a smartphone for the first time.
It has the Google Android operating system and can therefore be used with all common apps that make everyday life and trips outdoors easier - but a SIM card is not required. The new navigation miracle has a total of four interfaces ANT+, WLAN, Bluetooth 3.0 and NFC and can therefore be easily connected to all other Garmin devices. Various equipment features are also new, such as an FM radio, an internal eight-megapixel camera and a flashlight. The robust housing with built-in loudspeaker is waterproof and therefore absolutely suitable for outdoor use. The 4-inch touchscreen display made of scratch-resistant mineral glass should provide the best overview of the menu even in difficult lighting conditions. With a 2,7 GB internal hard drive, you can save almost any number of routes, apps and geocaches and always have important information at hand. The device becomes the "outdoor"-Messe in Friedrichshafen and costs 669 euros in specialist shops.
