List of the best high-end E-MTBs 2020

E-MTB test 2020: We took a detailed look at more than 20 e-MTBs in the highest category and ran countless test rounds. There were no price limits - accordingly, there are also some models above the 10.000 euro mark. But bikes for significantly less money also knew how to convince us.

E-mountain bikes in the high-end category have to do one thing above all: offer maximum riding fun! However, if you only think about shooting downhill, you are wrong. Powerful mid-engines and modern geometries make it possible to experience riding fun even uphill and to literally get into a kind of flow.
Accordingly, we have not spared the bikes in this category. Ex-Downhill World Cup rider Jasper Jauch let it fly and explored the limits of chassis and tires. In addition, all drive components had to face the challenges of marathon stars such as Karl Platt and Tim Böhme. Of course, there were flat feet and broken chains; All the more gratifying that, apart from these "normal" signs of wear, none of the bikes suffered a defect.

A well-rounded overall package was important to us. Do the components match the area of application? What is the relationship between weight and driving experience? We had high expectations for prices that sometimes range far beyond 10.000 euros. Slips in geometry, chassis, brakes or tires resulted in critical devaluations.

It doesn't always have to be high-end: 30 bestselling e-MTBs around 5.000 euros in the test
