Test: Anything but ordinary: The Xduro Nduro from Haibike breaks new ground with its 120Nm strong TQ mid-motor and consistent system integration. Despite the carbon frame, the relatively high weight of almost 28kg is unusual. In addition to the rather heavy drive, the selected components are also responsible for this. In keeping with the 180mm of spring travel, Haibike chose stable parts that should also be able to withstand tough trail use: This applies to the wheels from DT Swiss as well as the brake system from Magura. In addition, the integrated lighting system lives up to its name and bathes even the darkest paths in daylight.

The ongoing e-bike boom is leading to an ever-increasing variety of different bikes. An E-MTB like the Haibike XDURO Nduro 10.0 would have been unthinkable just a few years ago and is probably the technical spearhead of the industry in many respects. The fact that we don't think it's an e-bike for the general public shouldn't be taken as criticism - it rather underscores its special status on the market. The top model from the Flyon series combines properties, components and features that don't really fit together on paper: a lot of spring travel, a carbon frame, high weight, a motor with 120Nm torque, an elegantly integrated lighting system and countless smart features all together huge color display. To get straight to the point: In practice, this bold approach works really well!

Test: With the Rapcon Pmax, the Austrian luxury manufacturer Simplon also has an extremely interesting E-Fully in its range this year. The bike, which can be configured as desired using a modular system, is based on a carbon frame with a new Bosch CX motor and 625Wh battery. If the capacity is not enough, you can mount another additional battery with 500Wh on the down tube. [...]

M1 Spitzing Evo Bobby Root Edition E-MTB under test: Noble carbon all-rounder with a powerful motor
Test: The Spitzing Evolution in the Bobby Root Edition from the Bavarian manufacturer M1 Sporttechnik stands out from the crowd of e-MTBs in many ways: The up to 120Nm strong TQ mid-motor and the huge 1043Wh battery in the down tube are particularly present in this combination unique. Unfortunately, the powerful drive and the large […]
Powerful engine and matching circuit
One after the other: The middle motor from TQ is primarily responsible for the very high weight of 28kg, but with a maximum torque of 120Nm it is also significantly stronger than the competition. It also ensures that you don't feel the heavy weight either on the flat or uphill: Regardless of the cadence, it pushes you extremely hard and harmonises very well with the 8-speed Sram EX1 gearshift. It easily compensates for the large gear jumps of the widely graduated cassette. Due to the few gears, the shifting is also more robust and runs a little quieter and cleaner overall than 11- or 12-speed drives. At full power, the engine is quite loud, but due to the rather deep tone, it is not as unpleasant as the high-pitched hum of some other engines.

On the trail, the Haibike XDURO Nduro is clearly trimmed for smooth running, which suits the character of the bike. The noble suspension from Fox does a good job and has no trouble with rougher impacts even at high speeds. The robust wheels from DT Swiss, grippy Schwalbe Magic Mary tires and the powerful Magura MT7 stoppers invite you to let it rip. This always works well if it doesn't get too tight, then the weight and the somewhat bulky handling become a challenge. However, less experienced bikers in particular should benefit enormously from the plush chassis, the good-natured handling and the very smooth running. Only the large standover height takes some getting used to and can become painful if you dismount uncontrolled.
High suitability for everyday use
Thanks to the excellent lighting with headlights including high beam function and the rear lights integrated into the seat stays, you can keep track of things even in complete darkness. In addition, the suitability for everyday use benefits, which is also underlined by the integrated mount for a side stand. Also to be emphasized is the really excellent, large color display next to which some of the current displays from the competition appear as if they came from the Stone Age. It is operated via an ergonomically successful remote, with which you can navigate very comfortably through the many features of the on-board computer after you get used to it.
