Lightweight glove with on-board bad weather protection: SQLabs SQ Gloves ONE10

22 November 2023 by the editorial office

The bicycle contact point specialist from Bavaria has come up with something special to avoid the problems of freedom of movement, cold protection and breathability with waterproof gloves. The result is the SQ-Gloves ONE10, which are equipped with a permanently installed overglove. This means that additional protection can be put on in no time at all in the rain or cold. When it is no longer needed, it can simply be hidden in a pocket on the upper glove cuff.

The glove itself is thin and lightweight. A flexible softshell material is used on the backhand and waterproof artificial leather on the palm. The latter overlaps the fingertips so that there are no annoying seams. This is also intended to prevent cold penetration.

For better visibility in traffic, the main glove and overglove are each printed with reflective logos. Another special feature of SQLabs is the size concept. The gloves are not only available in different sizes, but also specifically for narrower and wider hands.

How well does the pull-over concept work? The SQ-Gloves ONE10 in an everyday test

Thanks to the Velcro fastener, it's easy to slip into the ONE10 Gloves. Inside it feels pleasantly soft thanks to the light fleece insulation. The fingers are always free to move. In terms of fit, the ONE10 is small compared to other gloves. Anyone who chooses this glove should definitely Size determination on the manufacturer's website follow.

On the move, the glove impresses with its direct grip on the handlebars. The palm of the hand generates enough grip and you don't miss the missing silicone prints. If it gets uncomfortable, the overglove can be put on quickly. We really liked that the process was simple and uncomplicated. You don't have to take off your gloves. However, it is important to mention here that the thumbs are not covered. In prolonged rain, even if your thumb is partially protected by the handlebars, it can get wet. The rest of your hand is very well protected from rain and cold thanks to the additional protection. The brakes and gears can still be operated very easily with the separate index finger.
