MV Agusta AMO XT6: The urban bike impresses with its sporty character, great utility and high-quality technology.
The origins of many a vehicle brand can hardly be seen anymore. MV Agusta, for example, is known among motorcycle fans for uncompromisingly sporty, extremely powerful machines. The company started somewhere completely different: its roots lie in the beginnings of mass mobility after the Second World War, when cheap light motorcycles were in demand. The fact that the distinctive company logo is now also emblazoned on e-bikes is not a marketing stunt, but rather a return to a form of mobility that is superior to the car in some respects. And no MV Agusta model stands for the combination of utility and driving pleasure, combined with very advanced technology, as much as the AMO XT6.
The compact frame with the moderately sporty seat geometry houses the tried-and-tested "Mahle X35+" rear motor with integrated 250 Wh battery, which pushes quickly with 40 Nm of torque and then offers no resistance above 25 km/h. No wonder that the drive is particularly popular in the sports sector; numerous manufacturers equip e-racing bikes and e-gravel bikes with them.
Extremely solid six-speed gearbox
The unit is combined with a transmission that also has its roots in vehicle construction: the Pinion bottom bracket gearshift, shown here in the six-speed version. The maintenance-free, extremely durable system offers a gear ratio of almost 300%, with the large gear jumps being smoothed out by the power of the rear engine.
Light under 20 kilos
The total weight of the AMO XT6 is also sporty at barely 20 kilos, which the bike owes to its carbon fork, among other things. With the Supernova lighting system, wide Pirelli tires and disc brakes from SRAM, the components are top-notch; the front basket is not only very practical, but also puts you in a good mood with its typical urban look.
Conclusion MV Agusta AMO
All in all, with the AMO, MV Agusta presents a very unique e-bike that refers to the origins of its manufacturer with sporty everyday mobility and, at 4.600 euros, is not all that expensive given the technology on offer.
