Cycling: Phil Bauhaus prevailed on the fifth stage of the Tour of Poland. In the mass sprint, the German won ahead of Arnaud Démare. Within the last kilometers there was a fall, which tore the peloton into several parts.
Bauhaus wins, 3 Germans among the top 4
After 178,1 kilometers from Łańcut to Rzeszów, only a few centimeters should be decisive in the end. In the mass sprint sat down Phil Bauhaus (Bahrain – Victorious) wafer-thin Arnaud Demare (Groupama – FDJ) through. The podium completes on the fifth stage Nickias Arndt (DSM). Finished fourth Max Kanter (Movistar) the great German result. Due to a hectic finale, there was a big crash in the last few kilometers. However, due to the fall rule, the resulting time intervals were not taken into account. Sergio Higuita (Bora – hansgrohe) remains the overall leader in the yellow jersey.
