MTB News: The UCI is starting into the future with a new vision of mountain biking - and this already begins with the publication of the calendar for the Mountain Bike World Cup 2023. Very surprisingly, Albstadt will not be part of the series in the coming season. The newly 'revived' calendar was developed by the UCI in partnership with ESO Sports and Discovery Sports Events, two specialist sports organizations of Warner Bros. Discovery (WBD).

The Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) and Warner Bros. Discovery (WBD) have unveiled the new calendar for the 2023 UCI Mountain Bike World Cup and Enduro World Series. For the first time, the plan combines all important mountain bike formats in a common calendar. With the new orientation, the cross-country Olympic, cross-country short track, downhill and enduro disciplines are coordinated for the first time in the history of the sport. In the redesigned calendar, some mountain bike formats are placed side-by-side and races are grouped by location to maximize sustainability. The new structure aims to reflect the growth of the sport and allow each format to continue to grow and reach new audiences.
With 15 events covering a total of 34 races around the world, the combined calendar for the UCI Mountain Bike World Cup and Enduro World Series will take place in ten countries on three continents. Cross-Country Olympic and Cross-Country Short Track account for nine runs, Downhill and Enduro for eight runs each. In addition to brand new locations, established venues will welcome new formats onto their trails. Surprisingly, however, Albstadt is no longer there. After nine successful World Cup years, the Bullentäle will at least not become a cauldron next year as part of the Mountain Bike World Cup 2023.
