Sciu Aspen: The new Enduro in the first exclusive test

19 April 2022 by Christian Ettl

The new brand Sciu with its Enduro Aspen immediately caused a stir when it was presented. Things got heated up on the web and the bike and the brand were discussed. But that's not the point here, because we wanted to know: How does the bike actually ride?! The colleagues from Gravity Magazine sent the Sciu Aspen to the trails in Latsch with three riders for an exclusive first test!

Sure, you can have an opinion on anything. We will also deal with topics related to the brand and the statements of the makers, which bothered some bikers. There will be an excursus on this in Gravity Magazine. In it we want to clarify who is actually behind Sciu and whether we can really form our own opinion about the brand. But it was much more important for us to get to know the bike first. How a bike feels ultimately determines whether we have a good time on the trail! So off with the Aspen on the dusty Vinschgau trails to get a driving impression. And it turned out, so much can already be revealed, quite clearly...

The Sciu Aspen – data, facts and cornerstones

The Aspen frame retails for €3.399. That's not a discount price. You have to get the right value for money. The complete bike is priced at €5.999 Euro, also in the higher price segment, which also raises expectations. When a new, start-up-style brand suddenly appears and positions itself in the price range of high-end boutique brands, it has to deliver. Visually, however, it certainly succeeds.

The Aspen is unremarkable in a very positive sense. What I mean to say is that the name of an already well-known brand could also be emblazoned on the bike. The finish of the surfaces, the shape, the overall impression is very mature and gives no indication that the bike is a debut work. That's perhaps the only weak point in the Sciu's looks: it doesn't look very different from the mountain bikes we're used to. If it is important to attract attention, you could still get your money's worth, because there will be questions about the bike, at least that's what we experienced....

You can find everything about the driving characteristics and much more in our partner magazine Gravity-Magazine.de.
