Cycling: Fabio Jakobsen has struck again. The Dutchman won stage eight of the Vuelta a Espana, his second stage of this year's edition.
Jakobsen wins second mass sprint
Thanks also to his teammates Fabio Jacobsen (Deceuninck – Quick-Step) are delighted with their second stage win at this year's Vuelta a Espana. After 173,7 kilometers from Santa Pola to La Manga del Mar Menor, the Dutchman referred the Italian Alberto Dainese (DSM) and the Belgian Jasper Phillipsen (Alpecin – Fenix) in second and third place. The latter in particular was just too far behind in the last kilometer to be able to overtake Fabio Jakobsen, who was again sprinting furiously. This, however, got the mass sprint perfectly approached by his teammates, so that he only had to complete it.
Roglic stays in red
As expected, there were no changes in the overall standings at the very front today. Primois Roglic (Jumbo – Visma) is still 8 seconds ahead of the Austrian Felix Grossschartner (Bora – hansgrohe). The Spaniard Eric More (Movistar) is 25 seconds back in third place overall.
