Cannondale Jekyll 2022: Innovative and individual

June 23, 2021 by Michael Faiss

MTB / News: Exciting news from Cannondale - there is a new Jekyll! The race enduro has been completely redesigned for the 2022 model year, has an innovative high-pivot rear end and lots of interesting details.

Cannondale Jekyll 2022: Innovative carbon frame with high pivot rear end

The Cannondale Jekyll has always been an innovative, polarizing MTB: Many might still remember the Pull Shock damper, for example. This will remain the case in the 2022 model year; even more: perhaps it applies even more to the new Jekyll than to its predecessors. The damper is now practically “in” the down tube of the carbon frame and tickles 165 mm of spring travel out of the rear triangle. Here, too, they came up with something special and gave the new enduro bike a high pivot, which not only ensures excellent downhill performance and efficient pedaling, but also allows Cannondale to adjust the kinematics depending on the frame size.

The damper is embedded in the down tube - exciting thing!
The chain deflection also acts as a chain guide.

When it comes to the wheel size, no experiments are dared and the focus is consistently on 29 inches, across all sizes, both on the front and on the rear wheel. The asymmetrical rear end (Ai Offset) gives you short chain stays in line with plenty of tire clearance and high rigidity.

Attention to detail: strut protection not only on the chain but also on the seatstay.

Cannondale Jekyll 2022: Geometry

At first glance, the geometry of the new Cannondale Jekyll is modern, but not a real highlight; but if you take a closer look, you can see - the boys and girls from Cannondale have come up with something special. Not only does the main frame, i.e. stack, reach, etc., grow with the respective sizes, but also the rear triangle: Each size has its own chainstay length. This ensures a very good balance and a comparable ride feel across all four sizes, but is a considerable additional effort for Cannondale, both in the design and manufacture of the frame.

Cannondale Jekyll 2022: models and trim levels

The new Jekyll will be available in two complete bike variants and as a frame kit. What they all have in common is the full carbon frame with 165 mm travel. The frame set costs 3.499 euros.
