Test: A low step-through pedal with back pedal and hub gears? The Dynamics E-Lite 8R from Zweirad Stadler makes it easier to switch to an e-bike – solid technology and lots of riding fun are included. We tested it.
For many people, riding a bike comfortably means: low step-through, hub gears and coaster brake - just as you know it from classic touring bikes. If you then switch from the "bio bike" to the electric bike, you don't want to do without these properties, and then a model like the Dynamics E-Lite 8R is interesting. Because it combines proven handling and equipment with motor support that does not overwhelm beginners, but offers advanced riders a lot of fun and dynamics.
Dynamics E-Lite 8R: Flexible and intuitive
Let's start with the frame: The two-wheeler center Stadler offers the E-Lite 8R in three versions; in addition to the step-through, there is the trapezoidal frame as a sporty women's bike and the diamond frame. Of course, the variant presented here has long since established itself as a unisex model for all those who prefer comfortable function to conventional roll patterns. Of course, the coaster brake, which is used by experienced cyclists, is also gender-neutral. The largely fail-safe stopper is now commonly supplemented by a second brake on the rear wheel; you can choose how to decelerate depending on the driving situation. The E-Lite has hydraulic rim brakes of the Magura HS11 type - a system that has been tried and tested for decades, which is extremely reliable and low-wear and represents a good alternative to disc brakes.
Sophisticated and durable equipment
Shimano's eight-speed gear hub, which was not developed for e-bikes but works well on them, has also proven its worth for almost two decades. Although it may be that you never need the easiest gears, as you are pushed powerfully by the Bosch Performance Line. Especially uphill, the 65 Nm torque ensures that you can let the pedals gyrate easily, and anyone who starts at the traffic light in the strongest support mode will amaze other road users. But the motor can also be tuned much softer and is therefore also well suited for beginners.
The bike, which is priced quite cheaply at 2.700 euros, has a frame-mounted luggage rack that is very solid and makes the bike look tidy. On the step-through model, the 500 Wh battery is pushed into the carrier, which is very user-friendly; the two other frame shapes are equipped with a down tube battery – perhaps the more elegant solution. Panniers can simply be hung on the side of the carrier, and special system accessories can also be attached. For a jacket or a sports bag, there is also the proven spring flap. With a comfortable handlebar shape and an upright sitting position, the Dynamics can be moved comfortably through everyday life, and the suspension bike also seems suitable for tours. If you haven't really dared to try e-bikes before, you could get started with this bike.
Dietmar Siebke says
Good day,
now I'm a happy owner of an e-bike again (women's e-bike, DYNAMICS E LITE 8R). Unfortunately, my first e-bike (ZEMO T8) was stolen from the backyard of my home. Since I've reached a biological age of 72 in the meantime and am also "equipped" with cardiac arrhythmia with occasional atrial fibrillation, I can understand my virus that says: Passionate cycling (...and motorcycling) to the final horizon, or even better , until the doctor comes, just satisfy / only with an e-bike. Today I "rolled it up" and came home with a big smile. It has increased my personal quality of life a lot. I'm looking forward to my future, thanks to my decision to have invested something for the rest of my life. I live on the outskirts of Stinky City Berlin (BER disgrace, Big City Club HERTHA BSC, election sloppiness, 1.200 missing teachers and, and, and.) In about 6 km I am in a world of endless landscape with forest, fields Lakes, cranes, storks, deer, foxes and rabbits, recently also very close by (Döberitzer Heide) a pack of wolves in Brandenburg. With the e-bike, it can CONTINUE to be reached and experienced even for me. Well, that had to be written.
Best regards and stay healthy everyone... ... and stay on track.
Dietmar Siebke, the old folded bag, always on tour with the e-bike.
