Cycling: Lisa Brennauer took the lead in the overall standings at the Ceratizit Challenge by La Vuelta. After her stage win in today's individual time trial, the German is now ten seconds ahead of Elisa Longo Borghini.
Lisa Brennauer is about to defend her title
At the sixth Ceratizit Challenge by La Vuelta Lisa Brennauer (Ceratizit – WNT) ahead of their second overall victory. After the German won last year, she is now leading in 2020 after two out of three stages. Yesterday the Dutch won in Escalona Lorraine Wiebes (Sunweb) the prelude to the Italian Elisa Balsam (Valcar – Travel & Service). Already there, Lisa Brennauer was able to secure a time bonus with third place. Today she left the Italian in the 9,3-kilometer individual time trial in Boadilla del Monte Elisa Longo Borghini (Trek – Segafredo) and the Dutch women ellen van dijk (Trek – Segafredo) and Annemiek van Vleuten (Mitchelton-Scott) behind. The defending champion now leads the overall standings with a lead of ten seconds. The Ceratizit Challenge by La Vuelta ends tomorrow in Madrid.
