Product news: With the new Votec VRC, the proven racing bike model from the German manufacturer is coming back completely revised. While the VRC has always stood for speed and road bike feeling, the new model shows a completely different and modern side. The keyword here is Allroad, which makes the Votec VRC a real all-rounder on various floor coverings.
With the new edition of the Votec VRC, the trend in drop-bar bikes is increasingly moving towards adventure and gravel. But you didn't want to go that far with the proven road racer and just wanted to make it a little more all-round capable.
“We have seen how the use and possibilities in the road bike sector are changing. Today, you don't just want to be on good roads with your Renner. We didn't want a racing bike with limited tire clearance, but we didn't want a gravel bike either. In our opinion, "Allroad" suits the purpose of the VRC well: A sporty bike that conveys a real racing bike feeling over asphalt to cobblestones, but can also tackle unpaved paths." - Alex Bethge, Brand Manager Votec
One of the most important steps in the reset was to address the issue of tire clearance. With the new Votec VRC, 35mm ensures a wide range of applications and high compatibility. In addition, there is a long-distance geometry in combination with a multitude of details that perfectly combine driving comfort and aesthetics. This makes the VRC a visually appealing and versatile racing bike. In order to give every rider the same riding experience, the bike fitting experts from Radlabor provided input for grading the frame sizes. Radlabor can access more than 100.000 of its own bike fitting data sets.
"The VRC geometry is an ergonomically well thought-out concept that grows meaningfully with every frame size. So a perfect sizing from our point of view.” – Radlabor CEO Andreas Bruch.
The new Votec VCR also aims to set new optical standards, and together with Rafael Hoffleit from vonrafael design office in Heidelberg, they have developed a design that preserves classic lines and provides small surprises with various details. One of the most striking design features of the Votec all-road racer is the characteristic VR node. This is a special design of the seat clamp, which ensures that when the screws are loosened, the clamp does not remain on the frame but on the seat post. This means that when removing the seat post, for example if the bike is disassembled for transport, you do not have to pay attention to the adjusted saddle height, as this is retained.
Of course, with such an all-rounder with adventure properties, comfort must not be neglected, as this is crucial for a high-quality and long-lasting driving experience on constantly changing surfaces. This is where the well thought-out frame construction comes into play. The deeper saddle clamp and the seat stays that merge directly into the top tube, in combination with the classic 27,2 mm seat post, bring more comfort in the seating area.
Another smart feature is the front derailleur attachment. A specially designed "pocket" is used here, which does not require additional bonding and ensures the best possible hold. For all fans of one-by drives there is an elegant solution without a front derailleur attachment to ensure a clean form fit with the seat tube. In general, when designing the attachments, care was taken to place the threads in the components themselves and not in the frame, in order to promote durability and service life. The same practical perfectionism continues with the add-on parts. For example, Mavic Speed Release thru-axles are used to assemble the front and rear wheels, which allow faster wheel removal and remain in the wheel, as is known from conventional quick-release skewers. The Votec VRC is not only a bike for nice weather and exciting rides, but automatically comes with a matching set of Curana fenders to be prepared for the rainier time of the year.
With these detail-oriented and high-quality solutions for everyday life and sporty trips, the Votec VRC can be taken on many different tours. It doesn't matter whether it's quick trips, leisurely exploration tours or exciting and exciting adventure rides. The Votec VRC truly deserves the title of all-road bike.
The Votec VRC model range starts at €2499 and includes four different spec variants (COMP, PRO, ELITE, EVO). All equipment variants will be available from the Votec partner shop bruegelmann.de and Europe-wide from bikester.com from mid-July. From the beginning of August, the VRC will also be available as a frame kit for individual setups.
