Product news: The new Merida Scultura Endurance is, as the name suggests, the latest endurance bike from the manufacturer from the Stuttgart area. With its all-round properties and its first-class comfort, the racer shouldn't be fast on the asphalt, but should also be able to cope with small detours over gravel and bad roads.
With a modern frame design and more comfort-oriented geometry, plenty of tire freedom and seamless integration, the new Merida Scultura Endurance fits in well with the racing bike range of the versatile manufacturer and closes the gap between high-end road racers and off-road dropbar models. With wide tires, a balanced geometry and a long top tube for a relaxed sitting position, comfort is a top priority for the Merida Scultura Endurance. This makes it the perfect choice for many recreational athletes who want to spend long hours in the saddle and feel comfortable doing it. But even riders who don't see the asphalt as a limit will find what they are looking for in the Scultura Endurance. With its sporty all-round properties, not only racing cyclists, but also commuters and adventure bikers will be happy. Merida classifies the area of application as 90% road and 10% gravel.
In order to enable this versatility, the Merida Scultura Endurance comes with a long list of features that are not only tailored to comfort, but are also intended to underline the versatility of the bike. Of course, the newly designed and constructed Scultura Endurance frame, which with its updated geometry meets the requirements of a comfortable long-distance rider, makes the lion's share. A more upright position due to the longer head tube and a more relaxed head tube angle in combination with a slightly longer wheelbase offer a lot of smoothness and safety. In addition, there are the wider tires with up to 35mm, which allow more control and stability even at higher speeds. They also provide more grip and comfort on rougher surfaces.
Disc brake cooler technology is used for even more safety and the best braking performance. These aluminum parts are integrated into the frame and fork to reduce the risk of disc brakes overheating on long and demanding descents. The forged aluminum part under the front and rear disc brake caliper dissipates heat through CNC-machined cooling fins, ensuring 35% less heat build-up and faster temperature reduction for stable braking performance.
In addition, certain areas in the chainstays and seatstays have a pronounced profile that acts like a leaf spring and enhances the natural compliance of the frame material. This helps the rear triangle of the Scultura Endurance to take more hits and reduces vibrations. Of course, a clean look should not be missing with a high-quality racer. Thanks to the saddle clamp integrated in the frame and the newly designed "wire port", all trains and cables are integrated, which, in addition to optical factors, also offers an aerodynamic side effect.
But not only the performance is an important point with the new Merida Scultura Endurance, the versatility also plays a decisive role, as can be seen not only from the topic of tires and geometry. There is also the option of attaching mudguards to the bike to offer commuters and bad-weather riders an option that is suitable for everyday use.
The Merida Scultura Endurance comes in four equipment variants from Shimano Ultegra Di2 to Shimano Ultegra mechanical to a variant with Shimano 105 series.
