MTB News: In times of the corona virus we have to get used to the cancellation or postponement of appointments. Unfortunately, the UEC Mountain Bike Championships planned for May in Graz are no exception. Due to the dramatic situation throughout Europe, it is no longer possible to hold the event. The alternative date is September 3rd to 6th.
Actually, the UEC Mountain Bike Championships should have stopped in Graz in mid-May, but now the dramatic spread of the corona virus is causing the event to be cancelled. As with many other events before, the organizer must now pull the ripcord. Austrian Chancellor Kurz has taken drastic measures to slow the spread of the virus. This includes, among other things, the restriction of freedom of movement with the appeal that everyone should stay at home. There are even hefty fines for groups of more than five people. The cancellation of the UEC Mountain Bike Championships in Graz in May was therefore inevitable - and of course reasonable. But the event should not be canceled entirely. September 3rd to 6th is being considered as an alternative date, the new date will be decided together with the UEC and UCI.
