New date in September: iXS Dirt Masters 2020 postponed

March 17, 2020 by Andrew Waldera

MTB News: The iXS Dirt Masters Festival is traditionally one of the spring classics in the MTB event calendar, but here too the dramatic spread of the corona virus Covid19 means the end of the planned event in May. But the fans don't have to or shouldn't do without the largest gravity festival in Europe entirely. The new date is from September 18th to 20th.

The iXS Dirt Masters Festival was to be held in Winterberg from May 21 to 24, 2020 under the motto "Always #Fullgas!". As in previous years, the Winterberg Bike Park was expecting more than 1.800 athletes from all over the world in May, who were to compete in a wide variety of disciplines. Last year almost 40.000 spectators watched the spectacle live on site. But nothing will come of it for now! The organizer writes about this on his website: “Concerns about public health have prompted the North Rhine-Westphalia Ministry of Health to reconsider, postpone or cancel large gatherings of all kinds. We are witnessing the global health crisis rewriting the 2020 calendar of events.” The date in May has therefore been cancelled, but there is already an alternative date. According to the current status, the iXS Dirt Masters 2020 should take place from September 18th to 20th.
