Advent Calendar 2019 #22: Ergon SM Enduro Comp saddle and GE1 Evo Factory grips

22 December 2019 by Michael Faiss

Advent calendar / raffle: Ergon's already extensive portfolio will continue to grow for the 2020 season; In addition to some new products, the focus is also on a new color variant, which is already causing quite a stir and triggering an immediate “want to have” reflex in quite a few bikers.

Color on the bike is always a highly sensitive and individual issue. But a look at the market, the bike shops, the streets, bike paths and trails shows: the days of black and black bikes with black accents seem to be over. Bright colors, neon designs, color gradients - this is how many bikes are designed these days. In the 2020 model year, Ergon is adding another exciting variant to this color spectrum: the metal parts of the oil-slick components shimmer in a wide variety of colors in the light and ensure a very special look.

Ergon SM Enduro saddle

At this year's Eurobike, the specialists from Ergon presented the SM Enduro, a brand new saddle that is specially tailored in shape and design to the special needs of enduro riders. With its pronounced V-shape and extremely flat design, it should give the rider plenty of freedom of movement to steer the bike on the trail without the saddle getting caught in the pants. Padded sides prevent unpleasant bruises on the inner thighs. Thanks to the comfortable padding and the tried-and-tested recess to relieve the sensitive perineal area, the SM Enduro is also very well suited for pedaling.

The new Ergon Enduro saddle is available in three versions, two widths and initially only for men. The cheaper entry-level model SM Enduro comes with a CroMo saddle frame and nylon seat shell, but does without the all-round, padded edge protection. The SM Enduro Comp has this, while the top model SM Enduro Pro Titanium is also equipped with a carbon saddle shell and titanium seat stays.

Ergon GE1 Evo Factory grips

The GE1 Evo Factory grips remain largely unchanged for 2020, but get new color variants: Frozen Moss and Frozen Orange. Of course, the all-round trail grips are also available in the new oil slick version – the clamps shimmer in bright colors.
