Radcross: After their World Cup victories in Namur, Mathieu van der Poel and Lucinda Brand were able to celebrate another success after Christmas. Both won the cyclocross race in Heusden-Zolder, Belgium, on Thursday.
Mathieu van der Poel expands his series
As expected Mathieu van der Poel (Corendon – Circus) can continue to expand its newly started series this Thursday. The world champion in cyclocross confidently left the competition behind on the nine-lap course in Heusden-Zolder. Again four Belgians placed behind them. Lauren's Sweeck (Pauwels sauzen – Bingoal) secured himself Quinten Hermans (Telenet Fidea Lions), Michael Vanthourenhout (Pauwels sauzen – bingoal) and Gianni Vermeersch (Corendon – Circus) Second place. Toon Aerts (Telenet Fidea Lions) started today despite four broken ribs and was able to defend his lead in the World Cup.

Lucinda Brand also manages to win the World Cup again
Just as with the men, there was also the same winner for the women in Heusden-Zolder as a few days ago in Namur. Lucinda Brand (Telenet Baloise Lions) got ahead of her compatriot in an extremely exciting race Ceylin del Carmen Alvarado (Corendon – Circus) through. Only in the final sprint was the Dutch champion able to defeat her tough opponent. Third place secured Anne Marie Worst (777) before Marianne Vos (CCC-Liv) and Inge van der Heijden (CCC-Liv). This put five women from the Netherlands in the top five. Ceylin del Carmen Alvarado (Corendon – Circus) is now one point ahead in the overall World Cup Katerina Nash (Team LUNA Chinx).
Vos cracks.
