Pearl Izumi Elevate: Knee and elbow pads for Enduro and Trail

10 October 2019 by Andrew Waldera

Product news: The knees and elbows are among the "preferred" injury regions when biking. It doesn't even have to be a fall, even slipping off the pedal can be extremely painful. Equipped with flexible viscoelastic D3O LP1 protectors, the new Pearl Izumi Elevate knee and elbow pads promise maximum protection when chasing down trails.

Founded almost 4 years ago in Tokyo, Pearl Izumi, which is now based in the USA, focuses on manufacturing high-quality cycling clothing for cyclists. Mountain bikers will also find specific clothing from head to toe in the varied range. With the new Pearl Izumi Elevate Knee/Elbow Guard, the sportswear specialist is expanding its portfolio with medium-heavy protectors for enduro and trail use. The hard-wearing XNUMX-way Cordura stretch fabric offers the rider maximum freedom of movement with excellent breathability. In order to increase this effect, the mesh fabric has an opening in the hollow of the knee. Another advantage of the opening is the reduced formation of wrinkles when pedaling.

The extended construction, the wide elastic grippers and the applied silicone print should ensure a secure fixation of the leg warmers. The flexible viscoelastic D1O LP3 protectors ensure protection at CE level 1. These are made of soft polyurethane with high shock-absorbing properties. According to the information, the material can withstand several impacts without compromising its effectiveness in the long term. The breathable design of the protectors should ensure even better ventilation and thus also contribute to wearing comfort. The Pearl Izumi Elevate Knee Guard is available at a price of 129,95 euros, the elbow protectors cost 89,95 euros. Pearl Izumi products are distributed by Paul Lange & Co.
