iXS presents Trigger FF: New full face helmet for enduro and trail

August 16, 2019 by Andrew Waldera

Product news: The Swiss clothing brand iXS lifts the curtain and today presents the new Trigger FF full face helmet. True to the motto "All Mountain Performance - All Day Comfort!", the Trigger FF combines the ventilation of a half shell with the protection of a full visor helmet in an ultra-light and compact design.

The new iXS Trigger FF is aimed at enduro and trail riders who are looking for a full-face helmet with DH-certified protection, but still value a very low weight. For this purpose, the iXS designers gave the All Mountain Performance helmet a complete in-mould construction and the internal X-frame protective cage. The patented inmould construction is based on EPS foam from an injection molding process, which according to the manufacturer means that there are no weak points or glued areas. According to the company, the X-Frame offers increased protection against frontal impacts. Modern technologies, which are also reflected in the weight: At around 600 grams (SM 54-58cm), the EN1078/ASTM/CPSC-certified iXS Trigger FF is one of the lightweights in the full-face helmet segment.

The vortex ventilation with 5 massive air inlets and 17 air outlets provides cooling. This is supposed to suck the air into the helmet and push the heated air out. The ErgoFit Ultra headband with adjustment is used in order to be able to do without the massive padding and inliners that are otherwise usual with full-face helmets, but at the same time allow the helmet to be adjusted to the head. Two sets of cheek pads also allow individual adjustment to the shape of the face. Like the padding used, these consist of moisture-wicking VentMesh. Another feature of the helmet is the adjustable visor, which can be pushed up if necessary and thus offers space for the unused goggle. The goggle grip keeps the strap in place and prevents it from slipping.

The iXS Trigger FF full face helmet is available in two sizes and in five color variants, the price is 239,00 euros.
