cycling: iXS Dirt Masters Festival celebrates its 13th anniversary

16 April 2019 by Andrew Waldera

MTB News: From May 31st to June 02nd the iXS Dirt Masters Festival will open its tents in Winterberg for the 13th time. The largest European gravity event promises a lot of action, excitement and a robust line-up again this year. More than 1.600 athletes from all over the world are expected to demonstrate their skills in nine different disciplines.

For four days, riders and spectators can look forward to an exciting program with lots of entertainment and fun as part of the iXS Dirt Masters Festival. A look at the number of visitors in recent years shows how successful and popular the event is. In 2018 alone, the organizers counted 36.000 spectators in the Bikepark Winterberg. Already confirmed for this year's edition is the holding of the first run of the Specialized Rookies Cup, the second run of the iXS Downhill Cup, the Warsteiner Whip Offs Contest and the Continental Slopestyle Competition. The Mountainbike Rider Magazine Bunny Hop Battle and one round of the Kenda Enduro One racing series are also fixed. The Austrian YouTube superstar Fabio Wibmer, among others, is eagerly awaited. The fans can already look forward to his breathtaking bike skills and massive jumps, which he will show at the iXS Downhill Cup and at the Warsteiner Whip Offs.

For the 13th edition, the organizers have also included a new competition in the program. At the ROSE Best of Ten Contest, conducted by the two German slopestyle stars Erik Fedko and Lukas Knopf, young athletes can prove their skills. Erik and Lukas provide ten tricks from which the participants can choose the trick that they think suits them best. The two slopestyle aces also act as judges and evaluate the tricks and performance of the amateurs. At the end of the competition, the winner of the ROSE Best of Ten Contest will be determined and announced. More details about the iXS Dirt Masters Festival 2019 will follow in the coming weeks. We stay on the ball!
