News from the editors: The complexity of the topic in the age of the Internet is becoming apparent in the course of the current discussion about the EU reform of copyright law. Nevertheless, there are clear rules on the Internet that everyone understands - even without a law degree and a master's degree in media studies. Quite banally you could – in our case – under the heading "Do not cheat!" summarize. It should be the claim of everyone who writes their own texts and may even be lucky enough to be able to earn a living with it. It's the same with ours: presenting texts from other media as ours is not our way and not what we stand for. That's why it's important to us to show our colors at this point and to let our pants down in plain English.
A former member of our editorial team happily used other colleagues in the writing guild and presented this as his own achievement. Unfortunately, we did not notice this fact during his work, otherwise we would of course have intervened immediately. The colleagues from were particularly affected MTB News, from which said ex-colleague was inspired more than once in a way that violates copyright. That's why a big one goes at this point SORRY to the esteemed colleagues of the MTB News editorial team, followed by a message that is at least as thick THANK YOU VERY MUCH, especially to founder Thomas Paatz, who was extremely fair and friendly in dealing with this matter. He decided not to go to a lawyer – as he would have had every right to do – and instead contacted us directly.
Of course we cannot turn back the wheel of time and own up to our mistake. It goes without saying that we immediately took steps to eliminate said copyright violations. We hope that we can regain a little of the lost trust by dealing openly with the subject. Because our goal is the same every day: We want to provide our readers with everything they need to know about bicycles, regardless of whether they are interested in racing, whether they want to buy a new bike or are simply curious about what the next big bike trend will be . And in doing so, we always want to reflect our information situation, our point of view and our point of view.
