MTB News: The 27-year-old two-time German cross-country champion Markus Schulte-Lünzum is changing from Focus to the Israeli Bike Way Racing Team. The cycling team, which was registered as a UCI team for the first time in 2018, is organized by Ziv Anphi. The Israeli Champion Shlomi Haimy and the Serbian Champion Jovana Crnogora also start in the Bike Way Racing jersey.
Markus Schulte-Lünzum has been part of the Focus XC team since 2008 - formerly the SKS MIG team. With the change to Bike Way Racing after 10 years, the Münsterlander sees the beginning of something new and the chance for progress. In a statement on his Facebook profile, the 27-year-old explains that the feeling of having to switch to a new environment has existed for a long time. These thoughts became more concrete over time and finally resulted in the new partnership with the Israeli Bike Way Racing Team. In addition to Markus Schulte-Lünzum, the 28-year-old Israeli champion Shlomi Haimy, the Serbian champion Jovana Crnogorac (26) and the 23-year-old Israeli Guy Sessler will be starting for the Bike Way Racing Team organized by bike shop owner Ziv Anphi.
"After ten years those few sentences are not enough to summarize and give thanks to everyone, but I would like to say thank you... I'm pretty curious about some new stuff and new people and hope progress from that!" - Markus Schulte- Lünzum via Facebook
