Jacob Gessner can already show many strong results in his CV. The young man from Erfurt is not only the junior overall winner of the Müller – Die lila Logistik Rad-Bundesliga, but also the junior German U19 champion on the mountain and runner-up in the individual time trial. At the road championships in Reinstetten near Ochsenhausen, he finished fourth and just missed the podium. In addition, he was able to book several top ten placements in various UCI Nations Cup races, such as the Friedensfahrt, the Trophée Center Morbihan and the Saarland Trofeo. Jacob Gessner will be making his debut in the U23 class next season wearing a Heizomat rad-net.de jersey.
In an official statement, Ralf Grabsch, sporting director of the Heizomat rad-net.de team, praised the man from Erfurt as an all-rounder who can do everything – both as a time trialist and mountain climber. Grabsch definitely still sees potential for development, and the team wants to build on that with him. Jakob Gessner also sees good opportunities for development in the Heizomat rad-net.de team. “First of all, I want to establish myself in the U23 class. But in the first half of the year, the Abitur has priority. I hope I can keep improving. I want to work on myself – both physically and mentally – and then have the best possible first year under 23.”
