MTB News: The 2018 Red Bull Rampage was hard to beat for excitement. A completely new mountain ridge with spectacular lines once again challenged the riders - in the end the winner was Brett Rheeder. The event was accompanied by numerous falls, but fortunately all of them were minor.

What an event, what lines and what drops! The Red Bull Rampage 2018 in the iconic Navajo sandstone mountains of Virgin (Utah) provided the adrenaline rush on Friday night - for both the riders and the spectators. True to the motto "everything from scratch", the riders and their dig teams had to dig completely new lines in the new ridge in advance. As always, the riders had two runs in the final, which were judged by the judges according to line choice, size or height of the jumps, control and flow as well as tricks and style. The spectacle was accompanied by numerous falls, but none of them had any consequences - almost unbelievable for the spectators. The Canadian Brett Rheeder, who was already leading after the first lap, was no longer a threat in the second run except for Andreu Lacondeguy, who botched the last jump of the second run. Tom Van Steenbergen scooped the Mavik Best Trick Award with a massive backflip flat drop, and a courageous Adolf Silva was honored with the People's Choice Award.
