Product news / E-Performance: The E-MTB market will in all likelihood continue to boom in the coming year and Cube is maintaining its existing portfolio. With the Cube E-MTBs 2019 there is no revolution, but a well thought-out model update, in which the additional Trail Motion models in particular catch the eye.
Cube E-MTBs 2019: Cube Acid Hybrid
The cheapest E-MTB offspring from Cube, the Cube Acid Hybrid, has a new model for 2019. It was previously only available as the Cube Acid Hybrid One with very affordable and pragmatic equipment. With the Acid Hybrid Pro for 2019, a slightly higher-quality version has now been added. Of course, this does not change the basic ingredients: A rather relaxed geometry meets smooth-rolling tires and the super-harmonious but powerful Bosch Active Plus motor.
The battery is still well hidden behind a robust plastic cover on the down tube. At first glance, the wheels can hardly be distinguished from the InTube versions with an integrated battery. The Acid Hybrid still only comes with 29″ wheels and is also available with a trapezoidal frame. Both trim levels are also available as roadworthy all-road models with fenders and lights.

Cube Acid Hybrid 2019: The equipment variants
In contrast to its cheaper sister model, the Acid Hybrid Pro has an air fork from Suntour and a Shimano Deore 10-speed rear derailleur with a new 11-42 cassette on board. With a 400Wh battery, the new addition costs €2.199, the 500Wh battery costs €200 extra.
The equipment of the Acid Hybrid One is a bit more pragmatic, but still more than sufficient for relaxed tours and excursions on the forest highway. The entry-level bike is available for an attractive €1.799 (400Wh).
Cube E-MTBs 2019: Cube Reaction Hybrid
The Cube Reaction Hybrid should be the perennial favorite among the Cube e-hardtails. With its geometry, which tends to be more comfortable, it is much more tour-oriented than its non-motorized counterpart, but can also be navigated safely over one or the other trail. Nothing has changed in the model structure and the frame for 2019: In addition to some variants with a semi-integrated battery, there are also some Powertube models. The size split in wheel sizes will remain in 2019: while the smallest frame size, 16″, has 27,5″ wheels, all other frame sizes have 29ers.
Only Bosch's strongest horse in the stable, the Performance CX, is used for the drive. The Reaction Hybrid One is an entry into the world of high-quality e-MTBs for just €1.899. In the 2019 season, there will be a few changes in the equipment variants and prices for the Reaction Hybrid: while the Hybrid Race is slightly more expensive at €2.799 compared to the previous year, the Hybrid EXC is a Powertube model for less than €2.500 - respect. Also new is the Reaction Hybrid Eagle with Sram NX Eagle gears.

Cube E-MTBs 2019: Cube Stereo Hybrid 120
The Stereo Hybrid 120 is the jack of all trades in Cube's E-MTB range. 120mm spring travel, a balanced geometry between tour and trail and a wide variety of equipment variants from inexpensive beginners to ambitious carbon lovers cover a wide group of buyers. Here, too, only the smallest frame size comes with 27,5 wheels, otherwise the Stereo 120 rolls on large tires.
At first glance, we thought it was a bit of a shame that, apart from the Trail Motion model and the more expensive versions, a dropper post was not included in the equipment. However, we were assured by Cube that every retailer also has the option of an equipment variant with a retractable seat post - the corresponding outer shell is already installed at the factory and retrofitting is therefore all the easier.
In the limelight of the Stereo Hybrid 120 is the TM (= Trail Motion) version, which comes along with a 130mm suspension fork, somewhat more robust equipment and of course a dropper post and is therefore a bit more trail-heavy and should therefore almost compete with the Stereo Hybrid 140 as a trail bike.

Cube E-MTBs 2019: Cube Stereo Hybrid 140
The E-Trailbike Stereo Hybrid 140 goes into the 2019 season largely unchanged. The wheel size remains 27,5″ and the frame’s 140mm spring travel is retained. Like all Cube E-Fullies 140, the Stereo Hybrid 2019 is only available with a battery integrated in the down tube. The entry-level model is the Stereo Hybrid 140 Pro, which has a Suntour chassis consisting of Aion at the front and DUAir at the rear and a four-piston brake from Shimano at the front for €3.499. All equipment variants are optionally available with the new Kiox display, which costs €100 extra.
