Product news / MTB: The Pivot Phoenix DH shines in two new colors for 2018. Apart from that, the US manufacturer saw little reason to change the successful model of Bernard Kerr and Co. Noble carbon frame, progressive geometry and tried and tested dw-link rear end are back again this season.
The Pivot Phoenix DH is one of the most unusual bikes on the downhill circuit. On the one hand there is the extremely low weight, with which you can compete with one or the other Enduro. On the other hand, you rely on the proven dw-link rear triangle, which is known above all for its high pedaling efficiency - not necessarily the top priority in a downhiller's specification. But their success proves them right: The Pivot Factory Racing Team around superstar Bernard Kerr achieved top positions again in 2017. This should remain the case this year - with the wheels, you don't have to make any big changes; the Pivot Phoenix DH 2018 remains largely the same, but there is a breath of fresh air in terms of colour.
The new Pivot Phoenix DH comes in fresh aqua blue with red accents and sterling silver with yellow details. Otherwise, everything stays the same as the old, proven, successful: flat angles, an overall balanced geometry and of course the dw-link, with which you should definitely have the edge on the Feuervogel in pedaling passages. And of course: In 2018, too, the noble frame is made entirely of carbon.
Of course you don't get so much technology, development work and carbon for a bargain price. Here are the prices of the 2018 Pivot Phoenix DH:

Complete bike with Shimano Zee: 6.699€
