Cycling: Right at the start of the Abu Dhabi Tour, top sprinter Mark Cavendish retired after a fall in neutralization. This ended the tour for the Brit before it really began. Cavendish landed on his right shoulder, which he fractured in 2017 during Stage 4 of the Tour de France. Nevertheless, Mark Cavendish drove on at first, but then got into the team car after a few minutes.
Last year, Mark Cavendish from Team Dimension-Data was able to win the opening stage of the Abu Dhabi Tour. More information about the injury is not yet known.
