For me there were a lot of great bikes and products last year. I particularly liked the BH Lynx 5, because the aluminum frame is equipped with components that you rarely see and is also nice and playful on the trails. I also think the Topeak Joe Blow Twin Turbo is a really successful floor pump, because its innovative two-chamber system means that both high pressure and a lot of volume are no longer a problem. There is also a small preview of 2018 with the new KTM Macina Kapoho 2018, which not only scores with a successful battery integration, but also causes a stir with a mix of wheels.

mountain bikes: [Eurobike Media Days 2017] First Ride: BH Lynx 5 – New trail bike for 29″ and B+
Trail bikes have been the big topic in the MTB sector for two or three years now. As a logical consequence of the previous enduro trend, they want to reconcile the downhill skills of the 160mm machines with the all-round virtues of lighter touring bikes and a pinch of playfulness. The Basque manufacturer BH Bikes had previously offered a bike in this category with the Lynx 4.8 […]
Topeak Joe Blow Twin Turbo
Product news: Topeak Joe Blow Twin Turbo - with the power of two pistons
Product news: With the Topeak Joe Blow Twin Turbo, the accessory specialist presents an innovative floor pump with a clever two-cylinder function, which also has its price. The times when a floor pump was just a floor pump are increasingly over. For several years now, every manufacturer has not only had different variants in their range, but also […]

My highlights this year were the Stans Notubes Flow MK3. A light and stable wheelset that lives up to Stan's excellent reputation and should be a worthwhile update for many enduro and all-mountain bikes. But also the Conway GVR 1200C, which as an all-rounder that can play out its genes on any terrain and makes you want more in every situation, was able to convince me. Last but not least I don't want to forget the 45NRTH Japanther winter shoe, because I just love warm feet in winter.
Stan's Notubes Flow MK3
components: Test: Stan's No Tubes ZTR FLOW MK3 wheelset
Test: Wider rims - wide tires, that's the trend of our time, even at Stans No Tubes this runs through the concept of the new MK3 series, which has gained a lot in width. The predecessor of the MK3 is the ZTR FlOW EX rim with 25,5, 29mm width, the new star in the enduro rim sky has an inner width of XNUMXmm […]

45NRTH Japanther
Clothing: Test: 45NRTH Japanther winter shoes – cold feet? I do not know!
Test: With the icy temperatures that have prevailed in this country these past few weeks, the right clothing is important for every meter on the bike. The shoes play a particularly important role - because there is probably nothing more uncomfortable than cold or wet feet on the bike. With the 45NRTH Japanther we have a particularly […]

As an old XC racer, it's always exciting for me to test the latest MTB products as well as racing bikes. One of my favorites this year was the Drössiger HTA Pinion 1, which really puts you in a good mood on the trail descent and also offers a virtually maintenance-free drive. The Marin Pine Mountain 2 shouldn't be missing from my list either, as the modern classic with its harmonious equipment, great looks and outstanding driving characteristics shows that steel frames are by no means old-fashioned! When it comes to e-bikes, I have found my favorite in the Tern Vectron P9. Small pack size and great functionality. The light Tern is perfectly suited for the travel combination by train or bus – but also for a Sunday trip with the family.

Test: The HTA hardtail has been part of the Drössiger portfolio for a long time. For the 2017 model year, the HTA range has been expanded to include a trail hardtail with 120 mm travel at the front. There is also a version with a Pinion manual transmission. You can find out how the Drössiger HTA Pinion 1 fared in this test. Drössiger HTA Pionion 1 test: The framework […]

mountain bikes: Review: Marin Pine Mountain 2 – A Modern Classic?
Test: The Marin Pine Mountain 2 is by no means an unknown bike. Even before the tester was born (1994), trails were being made unsafe with the Pine Hardtails. In this test you can find out whether the 2017 version of the Pine Mountain is more old-fashioned or a modern classic. Marin Pine Mountain 2: The Framework The Marin Pine […]
