Market: The 2018 cycling season is already on the rise and the first innovations are not long in coming. We are already eagerly awaiting the new tests for 2018, but we still want to look back with you at our highlights from the past year. In our Editors' Choice series, our testers and editors will each present the three products that particularly stuck in their minds.

The bikes and components just keep getting better. Our tests are complaining on a high level. I remember three in particular: -1- The Rocky Powerplay, here a relatively small company shows the big engine manufacturers that they can't rest on their laurels. -2- The Ergon Dh saddle, because I didn't realize that a saddle could have such an impact on the descent. -3- The Orange Stage 5, because I just love the British bikes!

Despite my many years of experience in cycling and as a tester, it is always interesting to try out and ride the innovations in the industry. Last year I remembered the Mavic Allroad Elite wheels in particular, because these hookless tubeless rims with a tight, secure tire seat were also convincing for wider tires. In addition, the new cyclocross tubeless tire Specialized Terra Pro 2Bliss Ready was a real hit, as it can be mounted quickly and easily and surprisingly works almost perfectly on almost any surface. Finally, I don't want to forget the Bulls Grinder 3, because the all-rounder was a lot of fun.

In my first year at Velomotion, as a tester, I came into contact with many different products that I would normally not necessarily have tried. The Corratec Corones comes to mind in particular, which surprised me positively because of or despite its aluminum frame and delivers great performance that doesn't have to hide behind a carbon frame. I can still remember the Sigma Rox 11 well, because I finally realized that a high-end GPS computer can also be easy to use. And last but not least, the stylish 100% Speedcraft, because I've always wanted to try the world champion's new glasses.
