Cycling: At the beginning of the year, when no organizer for the German road championship for professionals had been announced, rumors of multi-national championships, as is the case again in the junior class U2018 from 23, surfaced. Now, however, a venue is said to have been found in Einhausen in Hesse, as reported by echo-online.
The town of Einhausen should not be completely unknown to cycling enthusiasts. Because in 2015 the time trial championships were held here, which Tony Martin won. At that time, however, the street race was held in Bensheim, which was also the organizer of the Cross DM last weekend. From June 29th to July 1st, the pros and women will determine their champions in time trials and road driving in Einhausen.
"We have had final talks with the Federation of German Cyclists and are currently agreeing on a joint statement," Mayor Helmut Glanzner
Exact details of the route are not yet known. Ten laps await the pros on a 20-kilometer circuit through the Jägersburg Forest. The presumably flat profile will therefore particularly favor sprinters such as Andre Greipel and Marcel Kittel, who did not start in Bensheim in 2015.
