Product news: It was not until autumn 2017 that the German manufacturer from Koblenz launched the Canyon Inflite CF SLX introduced its first carbon crosser. The current dominator of the cyclocross scene, Mathieu van der Poel, has been riding this bike since January XNUMXst.

The Corendon-Circus racing team, one of the most successful cyclocross teams, and the German bike manufacturer Canyon signed a new partnership at the beginning of the year. According to this, the reigning European Champion and World Cup leader Mathieu van der Poel and his teammates will start with the recently introduced Canyon Inflite CF SLX cross machines.
Canyon Inflite CF SLX: The first carbon crosser from the Koblenz bike manufacturer
A special feature of the Crosser from Canyon is a kink in the top tube, which is intended to ensure optimal weight distribution when carrying the bike. Due to the reduced layout, the Canyon Inflite CF SLX is also said to offer less surface area for mud and sludge to attack. In addition, the clamping point of the seat post has been positioned lower for greater riding comfort. According to the manufacturer, the size M carbon frame for disc brakes weighs just 940 grams. The Canyon Inflite CF SLX is available in three model versions and as a frameset. The wide range of frame sizes is also particularly practical. This ranges from 3XS to 2XL. The 3XS frame is aimed at riders who are 152 cm tall. In contrast to the usual 3C wheels, 2B wheels are installed in sizes 700XS and 650XS.

In the new year, van der Poel was able to continue the successful streak of 2017 and secured his first victory on his new Canyon Inflite CF SLX. As part of the DVV Trofee, the young Dutchman was able to assert himself confidently in a very muddy race in Baal. Mathieu van der Poel should therefore also be the top favorite for the World Championships in Valkenburg on the first weekend in February this year. Nevertheless, the reigning world champion Wout van Aert, who is currently his strongest competitor, is impressively fighting back after a form crisis at the beginning of the season. So it could be exciting.
