Testing: Review: Hope R4+ LED

28 November 2017 by Caspar Gebel

All individual components are securely screwed to the Hope's solid metal housing. The holder, which has a non-slip, soft rubber coating, can be securely attached to the test helmet; the lamp is angle-adjustable on the holder. Your case snaps tightly into the spring-loaded bayonet twist lock.

On the trail, the illumination of the Hope is very bright and even thanks to the four LEDs; The long-distance view is great, even at close range you can see enough details. There is a slightly brighter spot about 10 m in front of the driver. The Hope shines in three levels, which can be switched backwards by double-clicking. The color of the power button indicates which mode is active. There is a battery control button on the battery, but this is covered when the battery is mounted on the frame. The scope of delivery also includes a head mount for camping use.

There is really very little to complain about with the Hope R4+ LED. As usual from the British, the workmanship is of a high standard, the light field and output are very good, and the battery life is more than sufficient. We also liked the robust and easy-to-use holder. The fact that the battery indicator is covered when mounted on the frame is just a small fly in the ointment.
