Market: The Contoura Freejack is undoubtedly the Swiss army knife of bikes. With the universally applicable all-rounder, the manufacturing brand of Hermann Hartje KG presents a special kind of concept solution. The four independent versions of the Freejack bike are all based on the same platform.
A bike for all occasions: The Contoura Freejack should meet the requirements of passionate everyday cyclists, commuters, cyclists and bike packers alike. This balancing act is achieved by a single frame/fork platform, which is set up according to the needs of the individual user groups. The complex frame construction made of triple-butted aluminum allows not only hub and derailleur gears to be used but also Gates belts. The Contoura Freejack offers the user an extremely large variety of gears and equipment when assembling the bike.
Thanks to the generalist concept, a wide variety of user groups can be addressed with just one basic model. A solution that is ideal, for example, for manufacturers with little loading space. The universal bike can be set up in four different versions: full, speed, cross and scrambler. The bikes are available in 15 different frame colors.
Contoura Freejack: concept pack in four versions
The fully equipped full version offers a very wide range of gears with 13 different derailleur and hub gears. In the business version, the Contoura Freejack comes with a low-maintenance Gates Center Track CDX carefree belt and 8-speed Shimano Nexus hub. The basic equipment includes Racktime I-Valo luggage carrier, 50 Lux B&M Lumotec IQ Eyc headlights and Curana mudguards. The price is 1.649,00 euros.
Within the cross version part of the complete equipment is dispensed with. There is no lighting, mudguards or luggage rack on the sports equipment for recreation and training. The Rohloff Speedhub gear hub, which is often favored by cyclists, is also not available for this model variant. The weight of the cross version with 1×11 SRAM Force 1 is specified by the manufacturer as around ten kilograms.
The Speed Edition should primarily appeal to sporty commuters. Characteristic of this model version is the minimalist and elegant design. The bike, which is somewhere between function and luxury, comes with removable B&M battery lighting, Shimano Metrea gears and Shimano Alfine S-700 brakes. The Speed Edition is available with 1×10 Deore drive for 1.399,00 euros, the weight with 32×622 tires is 12,5 kilograms.
The sporty geometry of the frame also allows an off-road version of the Contoura Freejack. As a source of inspiration for scrambler served the segments mountain bike, trekking and cyclocross. Schwalbe Rocket Ron tires provide the necessary grip off-road, and either a Shimano Deore 3×10 or 1×11 Sram Apex is used for the gears. For the entry-level model in the Scrambler series, 1.399,00 euros have to be shelled out.
Martin says
ME the good concept is not thought through to the end. Scrambler is supposed to be off-road, I don't get a Rohloff here. And the Scrambler runs on 57-584. Cross is supposed to be Urban (according to the product video on youtube), there is a whole bunch of circuits to choose from here, including Rohloff, the bike has 60-584.
Conversely, a shoe would come out of it for me. Even better: if it's already a platform, why can't I freely configure everything on each model of the platform (except speed, 32-622)?
This statement for the Cross "The Rohloff Speedhub gear hub, which is often favored by cyclists, is also not available for selection with this model variant." is not correct (more?). Just checked the homepage.
