Test: Mighty is certainly known to many as the own brand of the bicycle sales giant Messingschlager. Of course, a dropper post should not be missing in the extensive range - the Mighty SP120R-ADJ is a rather inexpensive post that convinces with simple assembly and solid function - but the remote has a lot of room for improvement.

Mighty SP120R-ADJ: Assembly
Thanks to external cable routing, assembly of the Mighty support is quick and easy, even for screwdrivers with two left hands. The only minor difficulty is mounting the bin on the train so that it can be hung on the support. The barrel should be checked for tightness before the first trip. The tried-and-tested method with a screw is used for the saddle clamp – this works very well and also speeds up assembly.
Mighty SP120R-ADJ: processing
There isn't much to complain about in terms of workmanship - especially in view of the low price of well under €200. It should be clear that you can't expect a high-end milling head and complex laser engravings here, but within the scope of the possibilities, the Mighty is extremely solid and did not reveal any noticeable weaknesses during the test.
Mighty SP120R-ADJ: Function
At first and second glance, the Mighty post reveals a number of similarities with its counterpart from XLC - on closer inspection, the supports only seem to differ in the finish - the Mighty comes completely in black and differs in the remote. However, the latter is also the major weakness of the Mighty support. First of all, the lever is difficult to place on the handlebars due to the unfavorably curved outlet, since the cable almost always collides with the brake lever. The required hand or finger strength is not particularly high, but unfortunately the lever cannot be reached without changing your grip.
Positive are the very pleasant extension speed and the robust interior with a gas pressure cartridge that can be replaced quite cheaply in the event of a defect. Depending on the cable routing on the frame, you should pay attention to the outer shell when the seat post is lowered, as it tends to form a loop and could possibly get caught in branches or twigs.
