Giro d'Italia: Tested positive: Pirazzi & Ruffoni excluded from the Giro

Cycling: Even before the 100th Giro d'Italia has even started, there is the first negative headline. On the eve of the first stage, the two Italians Stefano Pirazzi and Nicola Ruffoni were excluded from the Tour of Italy.

Suspected of doping: Ruffoni & Pirazzi tested positive in training

As has been reported, both drivers have already tested positive in training. They remain suspended until the result of the B sample. Jumper Nicola Ruffoni and climber Stefano Pirazzi ride for the Italian team Bardiani CSF, which competed in the 2017 Giro d'Italia wildcard had received. Whether the other drivers in the team will even be at the start tomorrow is still uncertain.

Stefano Pirazzi is well known to many cycling fans. He won the mountains classification at the Giro d'Italia in 2013 and the following year 17th stage. Nicola Ruffoni was last successful at the Tour of Croatia.
