Testing: Test: Red Cycling Pro 20 Lux

19 December 2016 by Caspar Gebel

Illumination Red Cycling Pro

The Red Cycling Pro 20 Lux is very suitable for being seen, but only with restrictions for seeing. The range of 5-15 m is brightly irradiated in our comparison of the light range, but the light field is rather narrow. At close range, on the other hand, it remains almost completely dark; If you turn the lamp down to illuminate the first few meters in front of the bike, then you have to do without a long-distance view. After almost three hours, the luminosity decreases significantly; From now on, the Red only serves as a position light.
The rear light, which is attached to the side of the seat post, is really bright.

Feel and operation Red Cycling Pro

The grippy silicone case with integrated strap is easy to install and sits firmly on the handlebars, but is also a real dust catcher. The pusher is easy to operate and can be easily felt even with gloves. Depending on the circumference of the thigh and the sitting position, the back rider can hit the leg when pedaling.

The distance visibility of the Red is good; disadvantages are the dark close-up range and the rather narrow illumination. The housing, which is made entirely of silicone, is very handy.
