Spectrum: After all the trouble and the problems surrounding the MTB routes in the Tegernsee valley and the negative attitude towards mountain bikers, the organizer of the MTB Festival is taking the consequences. The popular event, undoubtedly a great asset and an important tourist magnet for the region, is now being relocated to Lake Achensee.
The premiere of the MTB Festival Achensee on May 27th and 28th, 2017 will take place at our Austrian neighbors in Tyrol. The organizer flowmotion can fall back on an attractive, very well developed mountain bike route network at the Achensee - also in the long term. A problem like in the Tegernsee valley is therefore excluded. Florian Hornsteiner, managing director of the organizer flowmotion, is very satisfied with the new venue: "We are very happy about the partnership with the Achensee region. We can now again offer our participants attractive routes that will be available year-round and long-term for mountain bikers and our MTB marathon. In addition, the Achensee region can be reached from Munich in less than an hour via the Achen Pass.”
The MTB Festival Achensee will thus also be the scene of the MTB marathon, which in turn is part of the Ritchey Mountain Bike Challenge. The marathonists can look forward to four routes with lengths of 30 to 96 kilometers. Participants on the day of the marathon can expect to climb 690 to 2650 meters in altitude on the year-round MTB routes in the midst of a dreamlike setting. The e-bikers will also fight for best times on the four routes in their own e-MTB ranking. The start and finish of the routes are marked at the Expo site in Achenkirchen. Numerous exhibitors will provide information about the latest trends and will be available to answer visitors' questions. The colorful supporting program leaves no time for the festival's visitors to get bored, including an uphill contest, a kids' bike cup and a balance bike race.
