Market: The Zweirad-Einkaufs-Genossenschaft (ZEG), Europe's largest specialist bicycle trade association, announced this afternoon that it will no longer be represented at the Eurobike in Friedrichshafen in the future. Instead, one would like to rely more on the in-house trade fair, which takes place annually in Cologne. The farewell affects the brands Bulls, Hercules and Kettler.
More and more bike manufacturers are turning their backs on Eurobike: After Cube, Specialized, Trek, Focus and other brands had already decided against a trade fair stand in Friedrichshafen in recent years, the next heavyweight is now following with the ZEG. While Bulls, Hercules and Kettler were still strongly represented at the fair this year and Bulls in particular had one of the largest and most impressive stands of the whole fair, the decision was made to concentrate more on their own in-house fair from next year.
“In the future, we will focus more on our increasingly successful and growing in-house exhibition. For the first time, the ZEG BIKE SHOW 2017 opens its doors not only for the ZEG members, but also for customers of our numerous suppliers and partners. We are taking a new path: we are increasing the importance of our internal trade fair in the industry and making it a special product experience. In addition to the exclusive brands BULLS, PEGASUS, ZEMO and the traditional brands HERCULES and KETTLER Alu-Rad, our guests can experience an extensive variety of products - also from our contract suppliers - in a special atmosphere," comments Georg Honkomp, CEO of ZEG, on this very important decision.
